At the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, people will find a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups and youth looking to get involved in the food bank’s mission to feed hungry people in the community. Volunteers include:

Food Rescue & Stocking Shelves
Sorting and saving food and other salvaged products that would otherwise be destroyed due to minor damages or inventory error. Placing and organizing donated product on Food Bank shelves, cleaning shelf space, and helping to keep foodstuffs available and easy to access.
Cultivating and Harvesting from the Food Bank Garden
Perform routine gardening tasks such as cultivating the soil and weeding the garden, as well as harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables of in our garden located on the back .3 acres.
Organizing and collecting food at your place of work, school, church, civic organization or even your neighborhood. Collecting and delivering to the Food Bank food from organized food drives.
Food 2 Kids Sack Stuffing
Weekly preparation of approximately 500 disposable sacks of 7 -10 lbs. of food — enough for two days of meals to be given each Friday to previously identified school children at risk on going hungry on the weekends.
