Fun and Fundraising with the Food Bank
By hosting fundraising events we raise funds for our general operating
expenses. Monies raised are used to help pay our electric bill so
we can cool the produce in our cooler. They also help us pay for salvage
we need to purchase to make sure we have food for our Partner Agencies.
And they help us pay for the fuel our trucks and vans need to collect local
donations.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
Volunteer at an Event: From making phone calls, to picking up auction items, to designing fliers to clearing tables...the volunteers are the heroes that make an event successful. If you are interested in volunteering for an event, email our volunteer coordinator: Dave Williams at volunteer@foodbanknega.org, or fill out our volunteer form.
Host an Event: We have had some very fun and successful events organized by friends outside the Food Bank. Events can provide financial donations or incorporate giving of canned goods as the price of a ticket. We are happy to consult with you, email Tina Laseter at donations@foodbanknega.org.
