Our Mission
The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia will work toward ending hunger as part of an overall effort to alleviate poverty in our community. Our goals are to minimize and eliminate hunger in northeast Georgia by developing an effective system to acquire and distribute food which would otherwise be wasted and to increase individual and community awareness and action concerning hunger and poverty.
Accomplishments
Over this past calendar year, we distributed in excess of 6 million pounds of food to the ill, needy and minor children. Reaching this level has been a longtime goal. Having food to eat shouldn't be on anyone's wishlist. The families that the Foodbank of Northeast Georgia serves wish they had better paying jobs that could pay the bills and put good, nutritious food on their tables. Seniors that we serve wish that their fixed income went far enough to buy both food and medication. Children just wish they had enough food to stop their stomachs from hurting.
We can make a difference. The Foodbank of Northeast Georgia is one of the best places to invest your charitable dollars. For every $1 you give, they are able to recover $14 of food to put nutritious meals on the table.

Check Out Our Convenient Drop Off Locations
The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia is located at 861 Newton Bridge Road in Athens. If you would like to help by donating canned goods or non perishables please bring the items between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday - Friday. If you would like to help, but this is not convenient for you please drop off items during regular business hours at any of our Community Locations. These drop off locations include:
