What's PlungeFest?
You may have heard about it on the radio, read about it online, or maybe even seen a video on YouTube, but what exactly is this "Plungefest" that everyone's talking about?
Be a part of THE event of winter and join us for the 1st ever Athens Rotary PlungeFest, where participants take a quick dip in Lake Chapman at Sandy Creek Park to raise funds for local charities. Presented by the Athens Rotary, Plungefest benefits 3 charities: the Red Cross of East Georgia, The Foodbank of Northeast Georgia, and ShelterBox. It is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support local charities by jumping into Sandy Creek’s frigid water on February 4th 2012. The concept is simple: For a $25 registration fee and a promise to raise a minimum of $100, participants PLUNGE into Lake Chapman on February 4th2012, no matter how cold it is. But the Plungefest is much more than that. It’s the kind of fun and exciting events that you really have to experience to understand.
So grab a friend, coworker, family member or go at it alone — register today and you'll have bragging rights for years to come. Not just anyone can say they jumped into Lake Chapman in the dead of winter, right?
