What's PlungeFest?

You may have heard about it on the radio, read about it online, or maybe even seen a video on YouTube, but what exactly is this "Plungefest" that everyone's talking about?

Be a part of THE event of winter and join us for the 1^st ever Athens Rotary PlungeFest, where participants take a quick dip in Lake Chapman at Sandy Creek Park to raise funds for local charities. Presented by the Athens Rotary, Plungefest benefits 3 charities: the Red Cross of East Georgia, The Foodbank of Northeast Georgia, and ShelterBox. It is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support local charities by jumping into Sandy Creek’s frigid water on February 4^th 2012. The concept is simple: For a $25 registration fee and a promise to raise a minimum of $100, participants PLUNGE into Lake Chapman on February 4^th2012, no matter how cold it is. But the Plungefest is much more than that. It’s the kind of fun and exciting events that you really have to experience to understand.
